Colored Letters is a method to help children crack the reading code and avoid problems at the beginning of reading instruction.

The method has been tested in preschools with very good results!

In language, there are many more sounds than letters, which means that the alphabetical principle does not work 100%. This can make it difficult for children to start reading without confusion and stress.

The difficulties arise because the sounds of speech are represented by letter symbols. In some cases, however, these symbols must be combined in special ways to represent a sound.

A sound can also often change depending on the sound that comes immediately before or after it. It has been shown that some children have particularly big problems at this point.

Colored Letters solves this problem with the help of colors!

The colors are easy for children to perceive, much like traffic lights, and they bring joy. The children’s brains connect the correct sound through the color signals.

This means that, from the beginning, children can read almost all types of words. However, it is only a transitional period. The purpose of the colors is to help children move on independently with exploring written language.

The core of the method is a unique sound map. Letters are placed in a specific system with regular letter combinations that children find easy to navigate.

By singing the letter combinations, children learn what they sound like and what they look like. This saves children time because they don’t need to sound out each letter individually.

The result is that decoding happens faster and with less stress for the children when they can put the letters together themselves afterward.

The method takes into account the anatomy of the child’s brain at a specific age.

The letter combinations presented in this way are processed by the right hemisphere, allowing the child to memorize them unconsciously and easily.

With the help of the sound map, the irregularities that might otherwise scare and hinder children from learning to read are eliminated. When children learn the common patterns of letter combinations, their decoding speed increases, and less and less energy is required to decode new words.
